"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page" - Saint Augustine of Hippo
My love for the outdoors began very early on in my childhood. Besides cricket and cycling, much of my evening play time was spent in ponds and canals, catching fishes and releasing them back into the water. By the time I turned 13, I was going for 4-5 day treks in the Himalayas every six months; and this love for the outdoors was beginning to translate into a love for adventure.
In 2011, once I decided to move to Italy for my graduate studies, I got myself a digital SLR camera with the idea of learning a bit about photography so that I could capture my European travels with something more than a phone camera. Back then the phone cameras were no where close to what they are today! I spent a few weekends learning about photography from online blogs and experimenting with different settings. My learning curve exceeded my own expectations, and ever since, travel and photography have become a regular part of my life as I continuously find myself looking for new places and experiences to be captured through my lens.
In India, most of us take for granted, the wildlife that we are exposed to in our day to day lives. From spotting pythons and cobras in our garden to finding monkeys in our kitchen stealing fruits from our refrigerator, from sighting a black panther in the Himalayas to encountering a black bear in the remote parts of Orissa, growing up in the nineties, I have had my fair share of experiences with wild animals. Hell! Once, I even found a monitor lizard in my bathroom after it had managed to climb an entire floor through the drainage pipe and entered through the commode! My time in Europe and a relative lack of wildlife there, made me realize just how lucky and blessed we are, to be surrounded by such an amazing diversity of birds and animals in every nook and corner of the country. So, by the time I returned to India, I had developed a passion for wildlife.
Through this website, I intend to bring to my readers and viewers, mostly through my own experiences and photography, content that is visually stimulating, and which can be broadly classified into three categories – travel, adventure and wildlife.
I hope you find this website interesting and it helps you in planning some of your own travels and adventures. Would love to hear back from you about your experiences. Your comments, feedback and suggestions are most welcome.
Cheers and happy surfing!
